Conservative Parliamentary candidate for South East Cambridgeshire, Lucy Frazer visited Meadow Primary School in Balsham to congratulate them on their most recent Ofsted inspection which rated the school as ‘good.’
Lucy said: “Meadow Primary School’s rating of ‘good’ is a tremendous turnaround from the 2013 Oftsted inspection which rated the school as ‘inadequate’. Much credit should go to staff, pupils and parents of the school who have worked hard to achieve such a positive result. Headteacher, Nichola Connor, who was put in charge following the 2013 inspection, should also be commended on leading the school through this transition.
The school has gone about making improvements from a holistic point of view, addressing not only how to improve academic achievements but also how to improve pupils’ welfare.
Lucy added, “It was a delight spending time with the Year 6 pupils who struck me as so interested and engaged. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and feel sure their improved Ofsted rating of good is well deserved.”
Meadow School's Headteacher, Nichola Connor also commented, "Thank you to Lucy for supporting our request for Ofsted to visit by writing to them and asking for this to happen. Thanks also for coming to visit us to see the improvements we have made. The Year 6 children thoroughly enjoyed asking her some very tricky questions!"
