It was an evening of celebrations at Ely Cathedral on Thursday 28th October. Guests gathered to mark the ninth Ely Standard East Cambridgeshire Business Awards.
Welcome speeches were given by Ely Standard editor John Elworthy, Patrick Peal, the chief executive of East Anglian Air Ambulance and Lucy Frazer MP for South East Cambridgeshire.
The awards recognise and reward those companies and individuals who stand out not only when it comes to economic success, but also when it comes to best working practice and positive environmental practice.
Lucy said: "It was a pleasure to attend the this year's awards ceremony and meet so many dynamic, innovative and creative companies and entrepreneurs. East Cambridgeshire has much to be proud of - we are the front runner in terms of business and employment growth across the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Local Enterprise Partnership area with over 15 per cent growth since 2009. It is fantastic to hear about and see the diversity, vibrancy and success of the East Cambridgeshire business community.”
