Lucy Frazer MP met with Greater Cambridge Partnership today to discuss the latest developments regarding 12 possible Greenway routes into Cambridge from nearby villages including Waterbeach, Horningsea, the Swaffhams, Bottisham, Fulbourn, Linton, Sawston, Melbourn, Haslingfield, Barton, Comberton and St Ives. ‘Greenways’ are long-distance and, usually, off-road routes for cycles, pedestrians and wheelchair users, which people can enjoy for commuting or leisure.
The GCP are currently consulting to inform the project and ensure they develop the best routes. They are asking for members of the public to feedback any suggestions. Lucy is asking constituents to send her their recommendations via Facebook or by email which she will pass on to the GCP. She is also proposing to set up engagement meetings in the later part of the year to enable constituents to speak directly with those working on the Greenways routes.
Lucy said: “I am very enthusiastic about the Greenways project. It is an extremely positive and worthwhile endeavour and I will help promote and support it as much as I can.”
