A pre-application exhibition to showcase the vision and masterplan for the proposed Kennett Garden Village was held on Friday 9th February at Kentford and Kennett Village Hall. Locals were invited to view and comment on draft plans for the proposed sustainable new neighbourhood on land adjacent to Station Road, to the north of Kennett Station. Feedback will be used to inform final plans which will be submitted for approval later this year.
The draft plans have evolved through a process of colllaborative planning with local people, statutory authorities and service providers and issues raised at a community planning weekend in November 2016 have significantly shaped the current vision.
Lucy Frazer MP went along to the exhibition last Friday and commented, "Alongside new jobs and homes, the proposed development will deliver other significant improvements for the area including a new perimeter road decreasing traffic through Kennett, a modern building with a more spacious play area for the village school, improved parking at the rail station and new local facilities. I sense that the collaborative manner in which plans for Kennett Garden Village have been drawn up is very much welcomed by those currently living and working in the area."
