The first phase for the piloting of the LUCS project has now been approved by the CCG’s Clinical Executive Committee and endorsed by the Governing Body who met late yesterday afternoon. Lucy Frazer MP continues to be actively engaged in the process as the project evolves. It is clear that the LUCS hub initiative will only be successful if it is fully utilised by the public. Lucy used the opportunity of a meeting last week at Addenbrooke's with the Interim Chair of Cambridge University Hospitals, Dr Mike More, to press this point. She emphasised the importance of ensuring that the provision is widely publicised at Addenbrooke’s and questioned what other steps can be taken to enable the hospital to work hand in hand with local providers to ensure that patients used the facility rather than resorting to A&E.
