Lucy Frazer, MP paid a visit to local charity Red2Green to find out more about their work with people with disabilities. Established in 1998, Red2Green has been providing services to young people aged 16 plus and adults with learning disabilities and on the autistic spectrum across Cambridgeshire for almost 20 years.
Lucy visited the charity’s head office and main centre in its modern barn conversion at Swaffham Bulbeck. She met with CEO Nigel Fenner and Chair of Trustees Jane Miller as well as other staff.
Lucy also met with Options clients with a wide range of learning disabilities and support needs as they took part in their morning’s activities and some of the Aspirations clients who have autism spectrum conditions, such as Aspergers Syndrome and high functioning autism.
Lucy said "It was a real pleasure to visit Red2Green, to spend time hearing about their work and to meet some of the people who benefit from it. I was able to see how adults with learning disabilities are helped to improve their skills and those I met told me how Red2Green is a safe place for them where they can share their thoughts and get help with their issues."
One issue raised by one of the clients was why he isn't able to use his free bus pass to get to Red2Green until after 9.30am in the morning.
