Lucy Frazer MP is pressing for quicker connection for broadband for areas in South East Cambridgeshire.
Lucy arranged a meeting with Noelle Godfrey, Programme Director of Connecting Cambridgeshire, in Westminster to discuss the progress that has been made in extending the provision of superfast broadband across South East Cambridgeshire and the importance of connecting the remaining premises to superfast broadband.
Whilst most villages and areas now have access to superfast some parts of some villages still need solutions. This includes a small part of Ely and villages including Upend and Six Mile Bottom amongst others. Lucy is pressing for these and others to be a priority in the next phase of the roll out.
Residents can use the postcode checker at www.ConnectingCambridgeshire.co.uk to see if superfast broadband is already available in their area, or if there are plans to provide it in coming phases of the rollout.
Businesses are being asked to complete a short online survey about their broadband connectivity at http://www.connectingcambridgeshire.co.uk/connecting-businesses/ to help Connecting Cambridgeshire identify gaps in superfast coverage, particularly in rural areas.’
Lucy and Noelle also looked ahead to the prospect of bringing full-fibre and 5G technology to the constituency, which would place South East Cambridgeshire at the cutting-edge of digital infrastructure advancement.
