Lucy was invited to speak at the Cambridge Union Society on the topic of women and leadership. She joined a panel of former presidents and officers of the Cambridge Union Society which included Baroness Ann Mallalieu QC; Sara Nathan; Chantal-Aimee Doerries QC and Melanie McDonagh. There are more women in leadership roles than ever before: 26% of FTSE 100 board members are women, up from 12.5% in 2011; ten Cabinet Members are women; and 11% of the leaders of independent countries are women, up from 8% in 2013. This is clear progress, however, Lucy is looking into policy issues to ensure that there are equal opportunities for women to return to work, should they choose to do so, after having children.
