21 students from Milton Church of England Primary School came to Parliament last week. The pupils came from a mix of years 3,4,5 and 6.
Having toured the Palace of Westminster and taken part in a politically themed workshop, they met with their local MP, Lucy Frazer. Having had an introduction to how parliament works, Lucy spoke with them about the role of a constituency MP.
Lucy said, “The children asked very intuitive questions. Some were as young as 7 but they all seemed very excited to be here and extremely interested in what is involved in being an MP.”
Impington Village College students from years 7 to 9 also managed to squeeze in a day trip to Westminster just before the summer break. The students were full of enthusiasm which may have been due to their interest in politics or the promise of the summer holidays being only days away!
