The Parliamentary Debating Competition is an annual highlight for me, and despite COVID, this year's competition still went ahead virtually. This year's topic was 'why politics matters,' and it was interesting to hear the thought-provoking and persuasive entries.
Many congratulations to Isabell Mitchell from King's Ely for her winning entry! Her video discussed the importance of taking part in the political system, compromise and how politics gives people a voice and a platform. And congratulations to Ben from Linton Village College and Netta from Soham Village College who placed second and third respectively.
You can watch the video here and many thanks to all the students who took the time to send in their videos- I look forward to holding the next Parliamentary Debating Competition in person!
