Our local authorities provide services that people rely on – from our schools, to our social services and roads. It is therefore important that they receive the funding they need from the Government.
Today, I am pleased that all the councils that serve South East Cambridgeshire received an above-inflation budget rise, as part of the £64.7 billion 2024-25 Local Government Finance Settlement:
Cambridgeshire County Council: 7.9%
East Cambridgeshire District Council: 5.8%
South Cambridgeshire District Council: 6.0%
This will give local leaders the tools to reform their services for the long term and help communities prepare for the future.
