The Government’s new NHS Dental Recovery Plan will deliver 2.5 million additional NHS dental appointments over the next year to help people get the care they need.
Measures include incentives for dentists to work in under-served areas, New Patient Premium payments to treat patients who haven’t seen a dentist in over two years, and a new Smile for Life programme to expand preventative care for younger children to help reduce tooth decay.
It was also good to speak about NHS dentistry locally with the CEO of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care Board, Jan Thomas, on Friday. Jan shared her priorities to widen access for children and better resource orthodontists; bolstered by a recent £6.1 million investment into Cambridgeshire NHS dentistry by the Government.
