Yesterday I met with Linton Parish Council and Linton residents to discuss their continued concerns about recent flood events in the village.
Ahead of this morning’s South Cambridgeshire District Council Planning Committee meeting, I wrote to the Chief Executive of South Cambridgeshire District Council to highlight their ongoing concerns about specific developments taking place in Linton and their view that they are contributing substantially to the flooding in the village.
A number of residents have been severely impacted by flooding in the summer, and unfortunately some have had to temporarily vacate their homes as a result. I believe it is imperative that the District Council consider the technical evidence which has been submitted to them carefully so that residents can feel assured that their concerns are being taken into account and that they and their property is protected from flood risk.
