On Friday, I met senior staff from Bishop Laney Sixth Form in Ely to mark the beginning of works to expand the student intake from 300 to 400.
The expansion is possible after a successful bid for £5 million from the Government’s ‘Post-16 Capacity Fund’. The fund invited eligible providers of 16-19 education to apply for capital investment to accommodate the upcoming rise in this demographic.
I was pleased to support this bid to the Minister for the School System because I want to make sure our area can give more young people the opportunities they need to succeed.
