Too often, HGVs cut through villages in my constituency rather than taking the County’s Council’s Advisory Freight Route.
In Haddenham, I have been shown shocking evidence of near-misses as haulier drivers try to navigate roads that are not designed for their vehicles.
I recently visited the village to support the 'Lorry Watch’ group, who have done a fantastic job to monitor HGV activity and make voluntary agreements with some local hauliers not to use the route.
I am wholeheartedly supporting their efforts to secure a downgrading of the road and a weight limit in order to cut out HGV rat-runs altogether.
