We know that physical activity is good for both our physical and mental health, which is why the Government has set out an ambitious Get Active Strategy to get over 3.5 million people more active by 2030.
To achieve this, the Government is delivering £320 million of funding between 2021 and 2025 for multi-sports pitches and facilities across the UK, including in Cambridgeshire.
It is great news that in the latest round of funding, the following villages in my constituency have secured additional funding, allowing more teams to train and compete:
Linton Aztecs - £1,080 for new goalposts
Burwell FC - £1,440 for new goalposts
Stretham F.C. - £1,440 for new goalposts
Fordham FC - £2,520 for new goalposts
Waterbeach Colts FC - £9,126 for new floodlights
Haddenham Parish Council - £503,292 for new grass pitches, a pavilion and car park upgrades
