Between 2021 and 2025, the Government is funding sports infrastructure projects worth over £320 million through the 'Multi-Sport Grassroots Facilities Investment'.
This funding is designed to support parish councils and clubs with serving their local communities, including those who experience access barriers to sport.
Waterbeach Colts FC was one of the clubs in South East Cambridgeshire to benefit most recently, receiving almost £10,000 for 16 floodlights. It was great to meet the co-chair of the club, Paul Cuddon, to see them in action and hear about the difference they will make to training and matchdays.
My attention now turns to helping the club fulfil its goal of securing a 3G pitch.
