Record number of police officers recorded in Cambridgeshire

I welcome the announcement this week that Cambridgeshire Constabulary has exceeded their officer recruitment target and now have a record 1756 police officers.

The addition of 230 new recruits to the force since September 2019 was part of a national recruitment push by the Government to get 20,000 extra police officers onto our streets. I am pleased that this target has also been exceeded, with 20,951 more officers deployed in the past three years.

This boost will only serve to strengthen our front line and help to make our communities safer.
