It is great to see that several schools in South East Cambridgeshire have been allocated a share of the Government’s £434 million investment to expand classrooms and upgrade facilities across the whole country. This funding will help to ensure that schools across our area have well-maintained facilities in safe environments. This funding is part of the £1.4 billion of capital funding for 2020-21 announced in April and is provided through the Condition Improvement Fund. The schools that will benefit in our area include:
- Witchford Village College
- Impington Village College
- Meadow Primary School
- Histon and Impington Junior School
- Linton Heights Junior School
I understand how difficult this period has been for many schools and pupils and I am pleased that the Government is continuing to explore the support that can be given to students and teachers as we aim to return all children to school in September.
