Ely has a diverse and exciting high street, and I love visiting local businesses in the constituency. I visited Hughes Electrical and Pocock and Shaw, two independent businesses that have served the local community for many years.
Businesses consistently raised that it is vital that free car parking is maintained in the local area and that inappropriate car parking along the high street should be tackled. I fully support the first point, and I have raised the issue of unsafe parking with East Cambridgeshire District Council.
