I'm delighted to hear that the University of Cambridge, together with its project consortium has been awarded a share of £16 million in total of Government funding, £3 million from Cancer Research UK and £20.5 million of private sector funding to achieve better, earlier diagnoses for a range of life-limiting illnesses including lung and bowel cancer, liver health and Crohn’s disease.
This investment will drive forward research and innovation across the United Kingdom with a clear focus on managing the diseases that trouble an ageing population, utilising data, and artificial intelligence for the benefit of patients and the economy.
It is once again, fantastic to see our region leading the way in cutting edge medical research.
