The planned closure of Priors Field Surgery in Sutton at the end of March has left many people in Sutton worried. It would have an impact on my constituents if neighbouring practices in Ely and Haddenham needed to take on a significant number of new patients. This concern was expressed at Tuesday’s public meeting organised by the Integrated Care Board which I attended.
This afternoon the Integrated Care Board confirmed that an alternative provider has been found and that from 1 April, Malling Health will have an interim contract to provide primary care services. This will initially be for a term of 12 months, with an option to extend further.
The ICB are attempting to secure a lease on the Priors Field Surgery premises and these efforts still continue.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the ICB for their hard work to resolve this matter since news of the closure became public. I will update constituents with further information in due course.
