I recently spoke to CityFibre, who have been awarded a £69 million contract to deliver lightning fast broadband for 45,000 homes in Cambridgeshire under the Government’s “Project Gigabit”.
The extension of full fibre broadband is something I have been campaigning for over many years, especially through the ‘Connecting Cambridgeshire’ programme, so these new plans for our area are very welcome.
During our discussion about service delivery, I was pleased to hear that detailed planning in Cambridgeshire has already begun and the first Gigabit connections are expected in early 2024.
