I recently visited King's Ely to adjudicate my annual inter-school debating competition for secondary schools in my constituency. Last year’s winner, Isabell Mitchell came from King's Ely, so the pupils had big shoes to fill! With some passionate exchanges and excellent interventions, it was truly a thrilling competition.
The pupils debated the motion “This House believes no issue is more important that climate change” and their discussion was insightful and well-considered. All the students were fantastic and King’s Ely will be represented by Cyrus and Aoife at the grand final next month in the House of Commons.
