Last week, I visited Long Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge, to talk to students about my role as an MP and to answer their questions. We had an interesting discussion about the UK’s response to the situation in Ukraine, the current voting age, and the Government’s role in educating the public about our political system.
One student asked whether I agree that young people are not particularly engaged in politics - the quality and breadth of questions I received on Friday demonstrated that this is certainly not the case and I am sure that Long Road's students will continue to pursue their interest in politics, supported by their fantastic teachers.
