It was great to visit CMR Surgical, based in Impington a few weeks ago. The company have created Versius - a robotic surgery system that allows surgeons to perform lifesaving invasive surgery with greater precision and accuracy.
The Versius system has 3D HD vision and is portable, and has been linked to faster recovery in hospital with fewer post-op bed days required for patient recovery. First used in the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh to perform colorectal surgery, this innovative device will enable the NHS and its great medical teams to provide efficient methods of treatment, improved patient outcomes and increased bed space. It is fantastic to see a South East Cambridgeshire based company supplying the NHS and transforming treatment both in the UK and further afield.
