There are exciting re-developments planned for both Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Princess of Wales in Ely and the Government is also making substantial investment in existing NHS hospitals to make sure we continue to enjoy excellent services.
Yesterday the Government announced it will allocate £600 million pounds, of the £1.5 billion in NHS spending announced by the Prime Minister in the summer. For our area, it’s going to mean just over £11 million pounds in new money, which will be used to complete 25 maintenance projects. The money will be shared between the four NHS Trusts that cover our area: Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
In this very difficult year, our NHS staff have been there for us. Its right that they have the money they need to deliver services to the best of their ability.
