The Burwell Help Group were one of my COVID Community Champion award winners, and it was fantastic to meet them in person recently!
The group of volunteers Rob Proctor, Matthew Glass, Elizabeth Brunton, Kirsty Peirson, Steve Smith, Rev. Eleanor Williams and Marie Rollinson came together to support the local community during the pandemic by arranging deliveries of food and medicines and ensuring that those who were shielding weren't lonely.
Theirs is an inspiring story of ordinary people working together to help others and their hard work continues with volunteers now hoping to set up a village pantry where those who need to can come for food. If you can help them then please do get in touch.
