It was a pleasure to visit All Saints Church in Landbeach last Friday to present the lay minister, Jane Oakes, with a COVID Community Champions Award certificate.
During the pandemic Jane and others made sure the “Community Cupboard” at Landbeach Church and the food bank at St John’s Church were stocked and open to those in need. In addition, Jane led the volunteers who delivered food to local residents.
During my visit I also had the chance to ring the church bells – for anyone who’s not done bellringing before, I’d strongly recommend trying it - even if it is a bit tiring on the arms!
