Many of my constituents use the Cambridge North Station and I have been concerned to have received many complaints of bike theft from this station.
Last week I met with the British Transport Police and Greater Anglia to ensure that measures are being taken to tackle bike theft.
A scheme to provide fencing around half the bike storage (with key / fob access for passengers) / eye-level CCTV have been put on hold due to rising costs. Greater Anglia are in talks with the Combined Authority to secure funding for the shortfall and I am writing to the Combined Authority to press for such funding. I hope that these discussions prove positive to bring the investment needed to support passengers and staff.
