Our local area is at the forefront of cutting edge technology, and Nuclera in Impington is no exception. Nuclera specialises in biotechnology and aims to improve human health through the construction of proteins. Their work is helping to accelerate the drug discovery process from weeks/months to a shorter, potential timeframe of 48 hours.
I was delighted to open Nuclera’s new HQ and meet some of their 130 employees.
The East of England region is home to 15% of the total life sciences industry jobs in the UK and between 2011 to 2020, the industry added over 30,000 jobs. The UK is leading the way compared to other European countries in the number of new biotech start-ups.
Congratulations to Nuclera on their expansion and I look forward to following their progress in transforming this important part of the life sciences sector.
