Thank you to the Voluntary Community Action East Cambs for the warm welcome earlier this week! They are involved with the East Cambs Social Car Scheme and the Helping Hands scheme, two groups that do a fantastic job in helping elderly and older members of the local community.
The East Cambs Social Car Scheme offers door-to-door transport for people who are frail, elderly, disabled and isolated, and on average, the team of volunteer drivers travel somewhere around 76,000 miles every year.
The Helping Hands scheme is aimed at people unable to tend to their gardens and is not-for-profit.
