The Community Diagnostic Hub at the Princess of Wales Hospital will offer a range of medical checks, scans, tests and other diagnostic services once it opens in 2024, cutting waiting lists at a crucial time for patients. The new development comes after Health Ministers responded to my call to fund more local provision in Ely.
I was delighted to hear during my visit to the hospital last week that good progress is being made on both the medical facility and the onsite multi-story car park, and that temporary mobile scanners are soon to be operational.
Having worked with local campaigners, Cambridgeshire County Council and East Cambridgeshire District Council to save the hospital a few years ago, I am thrilled that we are now expanding the services available.
