The staff at Staploe Medical Centre do a fantastic job at meeting the health needs of residents in Soham and surrounding villages.
However, I know that the surgery is oversubscribed and the whole area would greatly benefit from a new facility that can cater for thousands more patients.
I recently met with Cllr Mark Goldsack, the Chief Executive of the medical centre and other senior doctors to discuss how to establish the financial viability of a new practice. I agreed to work with the Health Secretary, Steve Barclay MP, and the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care Board to press for sufficient funding required for delivery.
