Bottisham Village College participated once again in my annual debating competition, and I went along recently to chair their debate about a smoking ban.
The proposition made powerful points about the damage of smoking to the individual and to wider society – particuarly the NHS and the taxpayer. Similarly, the opposition defended the principle of free choice with effectiveness, making it a difficult debate to judge!
