The team at Burwell’s Pop-up Pantry are a wonderful part of the community, providing food and other donations like school uniform and toys to families who are struggling most with the cost of living.
Set up during the pandemic, the pantry assists approximately 10-12 families every week and work closely with Ely Foodbank.
I joined their weekly Friday pop-up session at Burwell Day Centre to recognise the contribution of the volunteers and to see all they have been doing to reduce food waste recently, including freezing more in their newly installed fridge freezer.
